Fast and Furious 8: Director Confirmed, Last Film in The Franchise, Casting Rumors Unearthed!

There’s good news for the fans of the Fast and Furious franchise. Fast and Furious is one of the most successful movie franchise and it has been a hit for all the seven instalments. Fast and Furious 7 got a tragic twist since star Paul Walker died in a car accident. The movie was continued and they gave a happy ending to his character in the film.

Fast and Furious 8 was given the kind of business Fast and Furious 7 did. There are a lot of speculations about the film and finally some official news has been trickling in for the fans. Universal Studio has confirmed that they have finally zeroed down on a director for Fast and Furious 8. The film is going to be directed by Felix Gary Gray and it is going to go the floors later this year.

Felix Gary Gray himself confirmed the news with a Twitter post. He said that he couldn’t have asked for a better set of people to work with and is excited to take the franchise to its next level. The first four films in the Fast and Furious franchise was handled by Justin Lin, who gave up the seventh film to James Wan.

While the director has been decided upon, producer and actor Vin Diesel has confirmed that the title for Fast and Furious 8 hasn’t been confirmed yet. He told MTV News that there are some people who are calling the movie F8 or Fast 8, but nothing has been decided yet.

Fast and Furious fans have still not been able to come to terms with the fact that actor Paul Walker is no more. While Fast and Furious 7 had Paul Walker in some parts of the movie, this film will be completely devoid of him.

It is not just the fans who seem to have a hard time coming to terms with this aspect. Vin Diesel spoke out about this to Christian Post. Vin Diesel was best friends with Paul Walker and the two of them had come close while working for the Fast and Furious franchise. Vin Diesel said that it was difficult, but he coming to terms with the loss of his best friend slowly.

Diesel confessed that shooting for The Last Witch Hunter has aided the process, since his character in the film, Kaulder, also ends up losing a very close friend and experiences the same thing that he has gone through in his real life. Vin Diesel said that he hadn’t been open about his feelings after losing Walker, but Kaulder’s role helped him to come to terms with the pain and the loss.

Fast and Furious has had a successful run, however it has been reported that this might be the last film in the franchise. Although there hasn’t been any official confirmation yet, Vin Diesel has hinted that the producers have an end in mind and he is aware of how it is going to shape up.

He didn’t highlight any details in this topic. He only stated that there is no surprise element in the franchise coming to an end. There is always a right time for doing things and the producers feel that it is the right time to bring Fast and Furious to an end.
