Fans Come Out With Their Own Theories For Game Of Thrones, Reason For Ned Hiding Jon’s Parentage, Is Meera Reed And Jon Snow Twins? Let’s See

The Game of Thrones is believed to have ended with one of their best seasons so far and with this being an original HBO story, there are a lot of speculations on what is going to happen in the next season. The previous seasons of Game of Thrones had the novel series, A Song of Ice and Fire to fall back on, but since novelist, George R. R. Martin couldn’t complete the sixth book, Winds of Winter, on time, HBO had to go ahead with their original content.

The last season of Game of Thrones had ended with the most shocking deaths that the series had ever seen. Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) was stabbed by some of the brothers from the Night’s Watch, with Olly (Brenock O’Conner) putting in the final jab. The season ended with Jon Snow lying on the snow, blood oozing out from his ghastly stab wounds.

There was no assurance that Jon Snow would survive the death since George R. R. Martin has derived a reputation of killing off fan favorite characters without the wink of an eye. Much to the surprise of the fans, Jon Snow was brought back from the death thanks to Melisandre (Carice van Houten).

Some fans are now trying to find out what was the point of killing Jon Snow and getting him back. Does his resurrection play a significant role in the later plot developments of Game of Thrones? There are some who believe that the main reason for bringing Jon Snow back from the death was to try and bring back the fans to the series.

As TV Guide reported, there were a lot of criticism for the Game of Thrones since Season 3 and the only way they could make amends for it all was to bring back a character that was a favorite of the viewers. While this might be the notion that is held by some of the viewers, there are others who feel that there is a purpose to why Jon Snow was killed off.

As the viewers of Game of Thrones will be well aware of, a member of the Night’s Watch cannot abandon their position at the Wall unless they die. Since Jon Snow had already died, he had the leeway to give up his position in the Night’s Watch and go ahead to look into issues concerning Winterfell and his sister, Sansa Stark.

With Game of Thrones Season 6 over with a lot of things to ponder on and with Martin’s Wind of Winter nowhere in sight, fans have decided to come out with their theories to figure out what had happened and what will occur in the next season of Game of Thrones.

The fans had already presumed that Jon Snow was the son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen, and this theory was validated by the finale of Game of Thrones Season 6.

There are a lot of speculations on why Ned Stark would go through the trouble of introducing the son of his sister as his own and cause a wedge in his marriage with Catelyn.

There are some theories, which state that while Ned was loyal to Robert Baratheon, he knew that he had killed the other children of Rhaeger and would do the same with Lyanna’s son since he had Targaryen blood in him. Ned Stark didn’t want his sister’s son to have the same fate and hence lied about Jon Snow being his bastard son.
