Everything You Need to Know About Kanye West’s Hospitalization

If you took a Thanksgiving weekend break from celebrity news, you might find yourself digging through the countless Kanye West-related news stories that have been pouring out since the star first made his controversial remarks about Donald Trump through to his hospitalization last week for mental health issues up to the present moment. Here is everything you need to know about the latest news around Kanye West.

The controversy around the artist first kicked up after his remark that he would have voted for Donald Trump following a performance on his current Saint Pablo tour. Just recently, rapper Q-Tip was on record saying that he would like to have a “serious talk” with West over his remarks in order to better understand where the artist is coming from.

That news came on the heels of an event in which wife Kim Kardashian West was held up at gunpoint at the couple’s Paris apartment during a robbery. The event apparently rattled West with sources claiming he has been acting depressed and paranoid for the entirety of the Saint Pablo tour.

Things got far worse for West at his trainer Harley Pasternak’s home with the authorities coming and determining that West required hospitalization for mental health issues. They then handcuffed the artist and took him to UCLA Medical Center for mental health evaluation. Of course, the star’s camp has said that the causes are exhaustion and sleep deprivation, but few people are buying that story.

West has remained in the facilities since the incident and has been visited numerous times by Kardashian West, who left the Angel Ball in New York City to be by her husband’s side. Apparently it was her absence that kept West from “snapping back” from his outburst at Pasternak’s. According to one source, “In the past when Kanye seemed to struggle, no one took it too seriously. The attitude was more like it was just Kanye being Kanye.”

The source went on to explain that while West had in the past only lasted a few days before snapping out of a situation, this time was far different. As of the time of writing, sources were reporting that West could expect to be released from UCLA as early as this Monday, November 28, but that has yet to happen.

In the meantime, the rapper is also taking the time to focus on himself and use this instance as an opportunity to work on himself. How that will work out is something only time can tell.
