Elder Scrolls 6: Expected to Release in 2019, Featuring a Multiplayer Aspect!

Fans of the Elder Scrolls franchise will have to wait for a few more years to get their hands on Elder Scrolls 6 or Skyrim 2 as its being called these days. This is because reports indicate that this upcoming game has been pushed back to 2019.

According to a Bethesda’s confirmation on a Telegraph report, they have been working on a lot of games but decided to keep all details involving Elder Scrolls 6, under wraps.

The single player adventure game was released last in 2011 and then an online version known as Elder Scrolls Online was released in 2014. This is the perfect time to release another single player adventure, but the developers don’t seem like they are ready to release another title anytime soon.

In the Telegraph report, Pete Hines, Bethesda’s VP of marketing declared that it is quite rare to have franchises like Elder Scrolls and people joking about the possible release of Skyrim 2.

At the same time, Bethesda indicated that if someone else was the publisher in charge of Elder Scrolls franchise, gamers would get a Skyrim 2 the next year or the year after that.

However, that’s not how things roll in Bethesda Studios. Hines indicated that they prefer doing smaller stuff. They try to publish in quality instead of publishing to scale. According to him, Bethesda wants everything to be noteworthy.

Looking at Bethesda’s trend involving Elder Scrolls, Crossmap declared that after the ‘Online’ version released in 2014, it is more likely that Elder Scrolls 6 will be released in 2019 instead of 2016. Meanwhile, Fallout 4 will release on 10th November 2015 and as a result Bethesda is too busy with this title.

They have no time to focus on Elder Scrolls 6. Meanwhile, it is expected that Elder Scrolls 6 will feature loads of enhanced content and multiplayer gameplay. It seems like Bethesda is interested in developing multiplayer titles to add to Dishonored 2 and Doom, so as to keep riding on the success of Fallout 4.

Bethesda hasn’t confirmed any details but according to Inquisitr, the upcoming Elder Scrolls will not be a sequel to previous titles like Morrowind and Oblivion. Furthermore, it will not be related to Redguard as well.

The latest rumors suggest that Bethesda will release the Elder Scrolls game sometime in 2016 to 2017. In fact, even earlier rumors suggested that it would be released before 2015. Sadly, most Elder Scrolls fans have been highly disappointed since all of it proved to be rumors and nothing else.

The previous titles in the Elder Scrolls franchise were Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim, all of which were quite celebrated titles. Most of the new rumors indicate that there has been a delay in the release date of Elder Scrolls 6, since Bethesda is currently preparing to release Fallout 4 on November.

The next title in the Fallout franchise was being awaited for a long time and therefore Bethesda is trying to make it as perfect as possible. Fallout 4 is a multiplayer title and therefore, it is clear that Bethesda wishes to concentrate more on multiplayer titles.

Bethesda also has other multiplayer titles likes Doom and Dishonored 2. Only after the release of Fallout 4 will Bethesda is able to focus on the upcoming Elder Scrolls title. As mentioned before, previous rumors suggested that the next Elder Scrolls game will be named Redguard.

Bethesda is well-entitled to use the ‘Redguard’ name but sadly, this title has already been used in their previous game Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard, which was released back in 1998. As a result, Redguard will not be the name of the upcoming Elder Scrolls game.
