Daredevil Season 2 is going to hit the television screen on 18th March. The anticipation about the upcoming season is already increased thanks to the new poster that has been released.
From the first look, the poster looks like an ordinary one, but an interesting one. However, fans of Daredevil Season 2 will observe that there are quite a large number of Easter eggs.
The first thing that fans will notice about the new poster released by Netflix is that the clouds form an image of a skull that is as we all know, the symbol for The Punisher. There were rumors that The Punisher (Jon Bernthal) will be a part of the new season Given the way the skull image has encompassed the whole of the poster, there is speculation that The Punisher is set to play a rather important and ominous role.
The next thing that the poster reveals is that there is a cluster of characters surrounding Daredevil. While the ones on his right are the good characters, including his father Jack Murdoch and his spiritual guide Father Lantom. When one looks closely at the poster, they will notice that Father Lantom is holding up a Bible that looks to be directly in line to the barrel of the gun in Turk Barrett’s hand.
The poster also portrays Elena Cardenas (Judith Delgado) and Ben Urich (Vondie Curtis-Hall), placed right below each other. None of these characters are going to be part of Daredevil Season 2 because they died in the last season. However, they have been featured because their deaths had a huge impact on both Karen (Deborah Ann Woll) and Foggy (Elden Henson).
Since The Punisher is going to be featured in Daredevil Season 2, there is going to be a constant tussle between the good and the bad and hell and heaven. In the lower portion of the good characters, there is a fireman who has the number 52 on his helmet, which relates to the 52nd street in the Hell’s Kitchen area of New York and it indicates that the good will constantly try to put out the fire that is going to be started by the evil side.
Another reference to the image of Hell and Heaven is that the characters on the left-hand side seem to be climbing up, while the one on the right with the bad guys seem to be falling down into what looks like hell and has a reddish glow.
There is also a nun who is featured in the poster and might be an indication that Matt’s (Charlie Cox) mother Maggie Murdock is still alive. The comic version of Daredevil holds that Maggie left her husband and son to become a nun and with a nun being featured in the poster, it looks like the storyline will delve into this side.
It was rumoured that Elektra (Elodie Yung) is going to be a part of Daredevil Season 2. This news seems to be confirmed with the said weapon that Elektra uses. Matt is set to get his biggest rival and love from the coming season and fans are very excited to see the chemistry that the two of them share.
Apart from the Easter eggs littered around the poster, Super Hero Hype has come out with another interesting element about the new poster of Daredevil Season 2. While the poster doesn’t feature any images from the upcoming season, it lets out secrets of what the fans can expect from it.
