Dana White Reveals That Jon Jones Took The Banned Substances Unknowingly, Two-Year Ban Might Be Reduced To Six-Months, Jones Hopeful Of An Early Comeback

After Jon Jones had failed the drug test, he missed out on a chance to get an eight-figure payday. He was also removed from the historic event that would have seen him facing Daniel Cormier.

He was declared to be banned from UFC 200 for two years after the USADA tested him positive. However, this looks to change since Jones is believed to have consumed a sex pill and not an estrogen blocker as it was initially believed.

According to Forbes, reports suggest that the supplement that Jones had consumed was supposedly tainted by the manufacturer. If that is the case, there is a chance that his two-year ban might be reduced to six months. However these are all speculations, and nothing can be confirmed until it is officially announced by the USADA.

After testing positive, Jon Jones was removed from the UFC official ranking, and he is set to be stripped of his light heavyweight champion title. UFC isn’t going to fine Jon Jones, as confirmed by the president of public relations, Dave Sholler. The player has been temporarily suspended until the reports of the investigation are revealed.

With Jon Jones out of action for a minimum of six months, light heavyweight contenders Anthony Johnson and Glover Teixeira are working on their next bouts. They aren’t thinking of Jones and are focused only on their upcoming match, the winner of which will go on to fight Cormier.
