Cleaners’ Story Elaborated For Tom Clancy’s The Division: Can Rainbow Six: Siege Compete With It? We will See!

Recently, Ubisoft released new information regarding gameplay and faction in their official blog for Tom Clancy’s The Division. According to the latest post, potential players can learn about the Cleaners, a new group. The members of this group will be equipped with damaging weapons. Hence, they will have a primary role to play in the story and actions of the Division Squads in 2015. This particular piece of information was released via Ubisoft’s Intelligence Annex Series.

With the help of interviews with level designers, lead story writers and concept artists, gamers can now take a look at the role and process of The Cleaners in Tom Clancy’s The Division. Hardcore fans witnessed this faction for the first time in Ubisoft’s E3 press conference last year. There are certain ways in which The Cleaners will influence the main story of The Division.

With regards to that, Tom Garden, the lead concept artist stated that their primary mission is firmly grounded in reality. According to him, the developers always begin by searching for what truly exists in the real-life New York. In this case, visual inspiration was drawn from that of the garbage collectors.

Starting from this point, the main role of The Cleaners is quite easy to understand. They simply exist to remove all traces of the deadly contagion by scorching everything to the ground (humans included!). The designers wanted to set them apart from the crowd, due to which they are equipped with Oxygen Gear and Flame Retardant Suits.

According to Garden, “silhouette, shape language and colors are the key factors for defining different archetypes”. The designer admitted to maintaining a strict balance between recognition and utter craziness as the game is vividly outlined with realistic gameplay.

Ubisoft has a great year filled with a lot of release dates ahead of them. The upcoming release of the next Assassins Creed, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege and Tom Clancy’s The Division along with a few more indie titles will make sure that gamers remember them for a really long time. However, questions have been raised as to which game has the most potential of all.
