Chris Evans: Announces The 6 Winners Of 500 Word Story Competition From St James Palace, More Details

Jen Morgan one of the judges was heard saying that it is a privilege to read some of the beautifully crafted stories coming from young minds.

In the 10-13 year category we had a story named It’s A Wide World written by Amabel Smith bag the gold prize while Hannah’s Londoner Pigeon won the silver and Lara’s Blue won the bronze.

In the 5-9 years category, Fight for Life by Sofia Zambuto won the gold whereas the silver and bronze were bagged by Robyn’s The World That Wouldn’t Come Out and Emily’s Cake Wars respectively.

Sofia’s piece caught the eyes of the judges and Charlie Higson went ahead to say that the little girl had written a matured story; which is very difficult to come out with. He further praised the fantastic twist that the piece got with itself.

Once again the BBC 500 word story competition was seen to be a great hit. We hope to see the number of applicants grow multi-folds in the years to come. This has been a great initiative by BBC.
