CEO Lei Jun Reveals 5 New Prototypes While Details of Xiaomi Mi5 Are Released Online, And More Information

The Chinese company posted an image via Weibo which showed the various prototypes of the highly successful Mi series of smartphones. Photos of Mi2S, Mi3, Mi4, Mi4i and Mi Note were posted along with all the Redmi series devices in their archetype state.  Lei Jun, the company CEO also expressed concerns regarding the end-user experience and the overall quality of each Xiaomi unit.

The company usually produces around 5 to 6 prototype devices before the final polished product. During the Mi4 conference, Lei Jun confirmed that it usually takes R&D 18 months to introduce a particular model and revealed that the Mi5 project has gone through six generations of models. Meanwhile, Xiaomi News revealed that the Mi5 prototype testing is in its final development stages but the actual product launch may be delayed to the end of this year.
