Fans will be happy to know that even Slaughter returns for Castle Season 8. Hawley has also confirmed that Castle will be working more closely with Hayley now that Beckett is stuck in the precinct.
Hayley will have an additional role to play apart from being the partner for Castle when it comes to solving cases. Hayley is going to be a role model for Alexis (Molly Quinn). Molly has always looked up to Beckett, but now since she is married to her father and is more like a mother, there is a need to have a role model.
Alexis and Rick Castle have always shared a very close relationship and they were more than just friends. While Beckett is someone she looks up to and adore, Hayley is going to be someone who is going to be like an elder sister.
Alexis is going to turn 21 in Castle Season 12 and she is no longer going to be close to Rick Castle in the way she had been as a little girl. She is growing up and moving on with her life and this will change her relationship with her father.
