Fans have been anticipating Avatar 2 for some time now and reports suggest that Cameron is working on the next installment of the Avatar franchise. That is not all; there are rumors that the director and his team are gearing up for Avatar 3 and Avatar 4 as well.

The Associated Press has gone ahead to report that the sequel of Avatar has been delayed by the director. Originally planned to be released in 2016, the deadlines have been extended and the team is gearing up for a December release in 2017. The primary reason for the delay is said to be because of Cameron is reworking on the script to keep it within three sequels.

Cameron was heard saying that while creating a three movie saga there are layers of complexities which gets eliminated while directing a standalone movie. The music director of the Avatar franchise has openly said that James Cameron has 4 parts in his mind and is working to bring them down to three. Cameron had wanted four sequels to Avatar, but he is tied by the contract to make only three.

With regards to the plot, Coming Soon reports that the protagonist Jake Sully will be placed in a different planet, but in course of the sequels, fans will see him return to the ocean ecosystem of Pandora. The Latino Post has reported, Zoe Saldana will be returning for the second installment of the movie to play the role of Neytiri.
