Asus, the Consumer Electronics Major of Asia has now released their second-generation Zenfone smartphone range in Taiwan. The company has released four new models of the Zenfone 2 known as the ZE551ML with 4GB RAM, ZE551ML with 2GB RAM, XE550ML and also ZE500CL. They come with minor changes in specifications of CPU, battery capacity, camera and display size. Currently, Zenfone 2 (ZE551ML) is the topmost model in this series. If you take a look at major review websites, you will immediately notice >8 point rating in the design, performance as well as features. It comes with GSM/HSPA and LTE technology with it.
It was announced on January 2015 with a recent release. It has five different color variants of Ceramic White, Glamor Red, Glacier Gray, Sheer Gold and Osmium Black. Looking at the body, the phone just weighs around 170g which is approximately 6 ounces. It has a dual-SIM capability with Micro-SIM and dual-SIM standby support. In the display department, the Zenfone 2 features an IPS capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors. It has a screen size of 5.5 inches, with a `70% screen-to-body ratio.
The display resolution is full HD with a crisp 403 ppi pixel density. It comes with wide angle 178 degree viewing and showcases the power of TruVivid display technology. The device supports multi-touch and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It also runs on the Asus Zen UI.
The device runs on the Android OS, V5.0 Lollipop platform with an Intel Atom Z3580/Z3560 chipset. It has a Quad Core CPU framework clocked at 2.3GHz along with a 1.8GHz variant. For graphics, the Zenfone 2 houses a PowerVR G6430 GPU. It has a microSD card slot for expansion up to 64GB. Other than that, it comes with 16/32/64GB internal storage variants, running on 2/4GB of RAM.
The Zenfone 2 has a flagship grade 13MP rear shooter with Autofocus, dual-LED (dual tone) flash at 4128×3096 pixels. It features the PixelMaster technology and includes an f/2.0 aperture. Other features include touch focus, face detection, panorama and HDR. It can record videos at full HD 1080p resolution. For your selfies, you have a decent 5MP front shooter.
