The Assassin’s Creed franchise has the capability to live till the end of time due to the never-ending choice of location settings and time periods in which it could be set. Sadly, this doesn’t really lead to a fascinatingly different experience each year. You may get new maps and new characters, but the final end-user experience remains the same. All you have to do is kill multiple targets that seem to be related to each other while serving a larger ‘the world will end’ scenario. Even the gameplay style remains the same, where you mostly make stealth encounters and decide which sword to brandish in case you’ve been made. In some years, the counter kill is easy while in some years they aren’t.
However, even with the present-generation consoles, the gameplay formula remains the same. One of the main reasons behind this is sticking with a strict annual schedule while trying not to mess with the success of this franchise.
