Rumors are heating up regarding a brand new 4-inch version of the iPhone, which will be called the iPhone 6C. the iPhone 6C has been the topic of discussions for quite some time and many believe that the device will make an appearance sometime in the current year.
With the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus, Apple officially entered the large screen section of the smartphone market. Unfortunately, for some users who prefer their iPhones smaller were left hanging as those two devices came with quite a large screen size.
Reportedly, its tech sheet will be quite similar to that of the iPhone 5S. it is expected to come with the Touch ID and an improved FaceTime. Ming-Chi Kuo, a technology analyst believes that Apple is gearing up to unleash their latest smaller screen iPhone upon the world.
It is likely that the device features the same appearance as that of the iPhone 5S. It will come in different colors namely- gold, space grey and silver. Its outer body will most likely have a unibody metal design. Similar to the iPhone 6 and the 6S, the iPhone 6C might sport curved edges.
Under the hood it will reportedly boast the A9 processor that is found in the iPhone 6S. The powerful processor will likely be coupled with 1GB of RAM. It will sport an8-megapixel camera on its back along with a 1.2 megapixel one for its front counterpart.
However, it is unlikely that the device will come with the latest 3D touch technology. The reason behind this could be accounted to the fact that the Force Touch screen is more of a premium feature reserved for the high end flagship series.
The iPhone 6C might be looked upon as an upgraded replacement for the currently available iPhone 5S in the market. The contactless payment system, Apple Pay, that was introduced by the Cupertino-based company with the iPhone 6 lineup will be found in the iPhone 6C too.
Apple is expected to launch the device within the first half of 2016 and it will likely come with a price tag which hovers between the $400-$500 mark.
Amidst the various rumors, designers are busy creating 3D renders of the device which can give an idea about how the actual device might look. Ferry Passchier is one such designer and he has already created a 3D render for the upcoming device.
His version of the iPhone 6C shares close resemblance to the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6S in terms of appearance. It is more like a smaller version of those two devices. He has released a number of renders which shows the upcoming device in a variety of colors that include gray, dark pink, gold, rose gold, silver and dark blue.
Another device from the Apple stable, the Apple Watch charging dock is likely to hit the market alongside the iPhone 6C. Various leaked images of the device are already being circulated over the internet.
This particular device will allow for charging of the Apple Watch in both horizontal as well as vertical positions. The device will itself will be charged using the lightning port that it will feature. It is likely to come with a price tag of $100.
A renowned website recently reported that am investment firm by the name of Piper Jaffray recently conducted a survey in which they asked 1,077 U.S. consumers about their preference regarding the size of the iPhone.
