For quite some time now, Apple has remained silent about their upcoming successor to Apple iPad Air 2. According to the latest predictions and speculations, a lot of Apple iPad Air 3 rumors have erupted from a variety of sources. In terms of both memory and processor, the iPad Air 3 will get a significant improvement.
The iPad Air 2 features an A8X chip under the hood along with 2GB to 4GB of RAM. The upcoming successor should have the presence of a powerful A9X processor under the hood. Compared to its predecessors, the iPad Air 3 should be 35% more power efficient and 20% more powerful than the A8.
The iPad Air 2 measures 6.1mm in thickness and has a weight of 437 grams. A Christian Today report indicates that compared to its predecessor, the iPad Air 3 will be considerably thinner. Furthermore, the device will also sport Touch ID along with a 9.7inch display.
The display in the new device will have a pixel density of 401ppi and a resolution of 2334×3112 pixels. MyDrivers, a Chinese website, predicted that iPad Air 3 will launch in March 2016. According to some other sources, this upcoming ultra-thin tablet from Apple stables will not hit shelves before summer or autumn 2016.
There are further speculations that Apple will be introducing a 4inch iPhone 6C next year. Japanese site Mac Otakara reported that iPhone 6C has already entered production stage, as cited by MacWorld. Ming-Chi Kuo, the KGI Securities Analyst predicted that this device would launch in the second quarter of 2016.
Keep in mind that we have no official confirmation on the release of the smaller iPhone 6C. Meanwhile, let’s compare Microsoft Surface Pro 4 and Apple iPad Air 3. The Surface Pro 4 comes packed with a lot of features but it has a rather hefty price tag of $899. However, the pricing changes with the specifications of the device.
The Core M variant is the cheapest model with 128GB of storage and 4GB of RAM. The Core i5 and Core i7 variants come with varying internal storage options and memory which changes the price as well. The highest model for the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 comes equipped with Core i7 processor, 512GB of storage and 16GB RAM.
Furthermore, it has an even heftier price tag of $2259. The price might seem like it’s a bit high but considering its specifications, it appears to be quite justified. This is quite a powerful device that is definitely worth considering.
The Surface Pro 4 doesn’t have a lot of competition for now but things could change with iPad Air 3 entering the fray. The present rumors indicate that Apple might launch the iPad Air 3 as early as March 2016. For now, Apple users are enjoying the iPad Air Pro but things could change with the launch of the Apple iPad Air 3.
Right now, even the Galaxy Tab S2 is being compared to the Apple iPad Air 3. The specs and features of the Tab S2 are already known but we the specs of iPad Air 3 are yet to be confirmed. The Tab S2 has a slim 5.6mm thick body and weighs around 392 grams.
Live Mint reported that the device has a plastic back panel along with a metal frame. The Galaxy Tab S2 a runs on an Exynos 7 Octa SoC processor and features a Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. We’ll just have to wait and see how it fares against the wonderful Retina Screen of the iPad Air 3.
