Apple iPad Air 3 Rumored to Be Released in September, Likely Come with A Better Processor and Display Compared to Its Predecessor!

The iPad Air 3 from the house of apple is reportedly the next device that the Cupertino-based company is going to introduce to the market. It was previously assumed that Apple will unveil the device at the special event which was held on March 21.

However, the tech-giant abstained from launching the device at the said event which brought the iPhone SE to the market. Announcements were made which stated that the Air brand will be discontinued and Apple came up with the 9.7-inches iPad Pro which is being dubbed as the replacement for the iPad Air 3.

However, experts still believe that the iPad Air 3 might be released sometime in the future and that release might happen within the ongoing year. It was previously reported that the iPad Air 3 will be powered with an A9X chip. The iPad Pro packed this exact same chip under its hood.

The iPad Air 3 was also supposed to come with the support for the Apple Pencil and this feature too showed up in the iPad Pro. These reinforced rumors that Apple might not release the iPad Air 3.

The price tag with which the iPad Pro showed up was around $100 more than the usual price of iPad Air models. However, if indeed the iPad Air 3 is released, it will be cheaper than the iPad Pro. It is being assumed that the price with which the device will be launched will be quite similar to the price tag with which the previous iPad Air hit the market.

The iPad Air 2 was released back in 2014 and it came with a 9.7-inches screen which had a display resolution of 1536 x 2048 pixels. Under its hood it was packed with a A8X triple core 1.5GHz Typhoon processor. The iOS version on which the device runs is quite old. The iPad Air 2 runs on iOS 8.1.

Considering the fact that Apple has already rolled out iOS 9.3 in the market, the OS version on the iPad Air 2 seems quite outdated. That being said, the OS of the device is upgradable to iOS 9.3.

The processor was coupled with 2GB of RAM and several variants of the device was released based on its internal memory. The iPad Air 2 was released in 16GB, 64GB and 128GB variants. It had a read camera of 8-megapixels along with a 1.2-megapixels front snapper.

As for the iPad Air 3, not much is known about its technical specifications. However, the device will most definitely come with a processor which will be more advanced than the one found in its predecessor. It will also be loaded with the latest version of iOS.

It is also being rumored that the display of the device will be much better compared to the iPad Air 2. The 9.7-inch iPad Pro came with a True tone display which made everything on the screen look more realistic. Unfortunately, this feature will most likely be excluded from the iPad Air 3.

Latest revenue reports from Apple clearly show that there has been a downward trend in the sales of tablets. Apparently, people are sticking to a particular model longer than anticipated by Apple.

Shipments of iPads are showing a decline and it is gradually becoming a major reason to worry for the Cupertino-based company.

Apparently, Apple is abstaining from introducing a brand new iPad to the market in the current conditions. Releasing the iPad Air 3 when the sale of iPad models is showing a downward trend might have a negative effect on its sales. The company is reportedly planning their next move and will roll out the brand new device in the most opportune moment.
