Angelina Jolie has filed for a divorce thus ending the high profile marriage between her and superstar actor Brad Pitt. Their Hollywood romance was felt everywhere, from the glitter of the red carpets to refugee camps and some of the worlds troubled spots. They became very popular together earning themselves the moniker ‘Brangelina’.
Their time together is definitely one that can’t be forgotten, as it was covered in high end magazines, lavish photos paparazzi shot on popular tabloids and gossip sites. The relationship seemed like one impervious to problems.
The world was stunned on Tuesday morning when Jolie’s lawyer, Robert offered the press statement explaining the end of the Pitt-Jolie marriage citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for this.
These two got married in 2014 after over 10 years of public speculation of a relationship between them, and after two great years, they’ve made the decision to end it. Jolie’s lawyer claims that this decision is best for the family and pleads with the public to give the family some space as this is a very trying time for them.
Ms Pitt is also asking for physical custody of their six children – Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh and the twins Knox and Vivienne. She’s asking the judge for permission for Brad’s visitation. She’s asking joint legal custody with Brad but is refusing him physical custody. She’s also not asking for spousal support but has requested sole possession of miscellaneous jewelry, personal effects, earnings and accumulations she made from and after the date separation, September 15.
Sources say that Brad’s developed a substance consumption problem with weed and alcohol, and possibly an anger problem. This seems to hold sway, as her entertainment attorney says the decision was made for the health of the family due to her discrepancies with brad’s interaction with their children.
While Jolie has remained silent, Pitt has denied accusations of substance abuse and has expressed his sadness over the divorce. He pleads with the public to leave the family and especially the children some personal space, due to the gravity of this current issue.
