Android Lollipop 5.1 Available For Samsung Galaxy S2, More Details

Similar to the other custom ROMs in the market, all the features won’t work simultaneously with the upgrade. However, you get the chance to check out the new Lollipop software on an older phone that won’t be receiving any new updates from Samsung. Just last week, the company announced that Samsung Galaxy S3 won’t be receiving any updates after Android v4.4 KitKat. Take a look at the hardware specifications of Samsung Galaxy S2.

The S2 features a super AMOLED Plus capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors support. It has a 4.3 inches display (~63.5% screen-to-body ratio). With a 480×800 display resolution, the device has a 217ppi pixel density. It supports Multi-Touch input and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. It runs on the TouchWiz UI v4.0 platform.

It was released with Android 2.3 Gingerbread and was later upgradable to Android JellyBean v4.1 OS. The Galaxy S2 runs on the Dual-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A9 CPU with an Exynos 4210 chipset. The device features a Mali-400 GPU. It had an internal storage capacity of 16/32 GB and expandable up to 32GB using a microSD card. It runs on 1GB of RAM. The S2 has a decent 8MP rear shooter and a 2MP secondary camera. The rear camera records video at 1080p resolution.
