HTC has been continuing the rollout of Android 6.0 Marshmallow to all of its flagship handsets, the One M9 along with the previous generation M8. During the recent weeks, the company decided to expand its rollout to some devices further down the stage.

According to an HTC source, the Desire Eye has started to receive the Marshmallow update in Europe and the update will reach United States in a matter of few weeks. Meanwhile, in China, the One E8 has started receiving the update as well.

In both Europe and China, the update is making its way to the HTC Desire Eye as well. In all of the cases, a smaller update is said to be required in order to prep the devices for a full upgrade to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

The Android 6.0.1 update released on March for the Nexus 5X brings security patches but according to Google, it comes with some important bug fixes that will improve the device’s overall connectivity, stability as well as performance. It has been several months since the Nexus 5X was released by Google. It is the 5-inch compliment of the much larger Nexus 6P.

During the weeks leading to its launch, Google has rolled out various updates to the Nexus 5X and this includes the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update along with a massive bug fix which came with some new features as well.

The Nexus 5X is still running on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow but Google wishes to add a new build of this version in order to keep the device refreshed till another version is launched in the near future. This could be Android N or something else entirely.

In the meantime, Google’s monthly security is now available for the Nexus 5X. All the present devices are getting the March security patch but the 5X Nexus 6.0.1 update could be a bit different. Besides security patches, the 5X Android 6.0.1 build comes with some bug fixes which are aimed at proper stabilization of the device. Many people were having problems with lag, low performance and issues since the release that month.

The March Nexus Android 6.0.1 update comes with a size of 68MB. In case you have downloaded it over a fast connection, it should take only a few minutes to download. The installation process should take around 7 minutes.

There aren’t any widespread installation issues but you need to make sure that your files are properly backed up before you proceed with the installation and download process.

In a Reddit post, Google said that it listened to feedback from Nexus 5X users and declared that the update is a reflection of that. At the same time, it comes with bug fixes which should improve the overall experience of the device.

There are a lot of people who are having issues with the Camera application on earlier Marshmallow builds. After the March build, users have declared that it has come with massive improvements. It should encourage those who had troubles in the past.

Meanwhile, battery life has never been problems on the Nexus 5X and nothing out of the ordinary was noticed on the Android 6.0.1 build of Marshmallow for the device. In case you run into abnormal battery drain after installing the update, there are some fixes which are available for your device.
