Android 5.1.1 Lollipop Update Has Been Released For Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 While Sony Will Start Rollout For Xperia M2 and M2 Aqua Soon, More News

The Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 comes pre-installed with Android KitKat OS, which is also the AT&T model. Therefore, what these users really need at the moment is a fresh, clean update free of bugs and issues.

Thankfully, for those Note Pro 12.2 users out there, here’s good news for you as Samsung has reportedly started rolling out the Lollipop update for your device. AT&T recently pushed out the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop Update firmware and therefore you will be receiving the latest Android version for yourself.

It comes with the official build version P907AUCU1BOH3 and this means you will no longer have to port a custom or modified version of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop but instead, the official version from Samsung. Keep in mind that this is an OTA rollout and therefore, you need to be patient for this update.

The firmware will be released in a gradual manner; therefore all Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 users won’t be getting the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop Update at the same time. Therefore, Galaxy users will receive notifications at different times. In case you are done waiting and wish to receive the update immediately, head over to menu -> settings -> about device -> software version and finally check for updates.

When the Lollipop notification is displayed, all you need to do is follow on-screen prompts and proceed with the flashing process. However, keep in mind that you need to charge your Note Pro 12.2 before beginning the installation process during the AT&T OTA update.

Furthermore, keep in mind that you need Wi-Fi in order to download the ROM which has a size of approximately 1GB. You don’t want to be charged extra by your career for a simple update. Keep in mind that you should start with the update only if your Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 isn’t rooted.

If your phone runs custom ROM firmware, you won’t be getting the new notification for the update but you will be able to flash the firmware manually through Odin which isn’t available yet.

Meanwhile, Sony has announced the release of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop Update Firmware for the Xperia M2 and M2 aqua range of handsets. For the M2 owners who have been running Android v4.4.4 KitKat till now, this will be their first Lollipop experience.

The OS build number 18.6.A.0.175 will be installed in your device and it will be live for a few regions all throughout its variants, except the Xperia M2 Dual. However, present trends indicate that this will be further expanded in the coming days.

However, there’s sad news for LG handset owners and there won’t be an Android 5.1.1 Lollipop Update rolling out for their devices. However good news will follow soon since it feels like LG will totally overlook the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop Update and proceed straight to Android Marshmallow 6.0 for LG G2, G3 and G4.

Meanwhile, Google has released two new Android Handsets, the 5.2-inch Nexus 5X and 5.7-inch Nexus 6P and reports suggest that both of them will be running Android Marshmallow 6.0. The third and final version of the developer’s build for Android Marshmallow has been released, but will take some time to reach the customers.

Furthermore, LG will also need to incorporate the new Android into their devices. However, you need to wait as the local wireless service providers will need to run the soak tests before pushing out the new Android Marshmallow update on a mass public scale.
