A Quick Review of the Powerful Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, Spec Sheet Impresses the Audience on a Wide Scale!

The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge smartphone was released in the last month along with the Samsung Galaxy S7. The device has been able to garner positive reactions from both users and tech experts within the short time since it was released.

It has a similar form factor like its predecessor, the Galaxy S6 Edge. Its outer body has been constructed using metal and glass and the combination of the two makes the device quite sturdy.

It has the measurements of 150.9 x 72.6 x 7.7 mm and weighs in at 157 grams. Overall, the device has a sleek and premium appearance that does not fail to grab eyeballs. The all-glass back panel that Samsung has been using in their recent smartphones has been used in the S7 Edge too.

Since it is an Edge model, it features a screen which is curved at the edges. A physical home button is also present on the device. The Galaxy S7 Edge sports a 5.5-inch screen which is 0.4 inches more than the one used in the S6 Edge.

The curved edge screen has a Super AMOLED display which has a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. The pixel density on the screen is 534 pixels per inch. The screen is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 which provides extra safety against damages.

The display on the device is incredibly vibrant and everything that is featured on the screen has an amazing amount of clarity.

Next up is the processor on the device which is an Exynos 8890 dual-core 2.15 GHz Kyro, dual-core 1.6 GHz Kryo one. Another variant of the device is also available which comes with the latest Snapdragon 820 SOC from Qualcomm.

The processor of the device is accompanied with  4GB of RAM. Depending on the processor used an Adreno 530 or a Mali-T880 MP12 GPU is also built into it. The combination of the powerful processors and the 4GB RAM ensures that the device functions smoothly while performing any tasks from running games to playing videos and browsing the internet.

The processor in the device is a custom-built water-cooled one which does not get too hot even when the device is putting in a heavy performance. This helps the device become lag-free.

Based on the inbuilt memory of the device, two variants of the S7 Edge are available. One of the variants come with 32GB of internal memory while the other one comes with 64GB of it.

Unlike the S6 lineup which did not carry external microSD card slots, the S7 Edge comes with an external microSD card slot and users will be able to expand the storage space of the device up to 200GB using external microSD cards.

The camera on this device is a 12-megapixel one which has a Dual Pixel sensor. The aperture of the camera is f/1.7. The Dual Pixel sensor enables the camera to focus on objects at a lightning speed. Some of the other features that the camera includes are- phase detection, autofocus, LED flash, geo-tagging, touch focus, face and smile detection and Auto HDR.

The camera of the Galaxy S7 Edge has been able to bag the top spot in DxoMark Camera rankings along with the camera on the HTC 10. Needless to say, it churns out excellent quality images in both daylight and night conditions.

As for its forward facing counterpart, it is a 5-megapixle snapper that has an aperture of f/1.7. it is loaded with the dual video call and Auto HDR features.

The Galaxy S7 Edge runs on a massive 3,600mAH battery that is non-removable in nature. Without the usage of any battery saving feature, the battery easily lasts through a day. Under normal conditions, the battery will provide with up to 27 hours of talk-time on a 3G network and up to 74 hours of music playback.
