A Look at The Dual-Camera LG G5, Two Add-On Features Unveiled for The Device!

The latest flagship from the house of LG, the G5 was introduced to the market in the previous week. It was one of the most anticipated smartphones prior to its release and it is being believed that the device will provide a fair amount of competition to the latest flagship smartphones from Samsung and Apple.

The LG G5 which was unveiled at the Mobile World Congress packs quite a few impressive features and one of them is called Friends. Apparently, a number of add-ons can be used by users which will improve the functionality of the phone in a big way.

Frank Lee, LG’s communication and account marketing director recently came forward in a statement in which he made it clear that the developers wanted to do something innovative with the device.

While speaking to CNBC he stated– “We noticed the excitement that people once had for their smartphone has waned a bit, and there’s this unmet need you have for something that is new, yet original and interesting.”

Quite similar to a Nintendo Game Boy, the LG G5 comes with a plug-in feature which really works towards making the device innovative. The LG G5 is a modular device and it is a first of its kind.

As for the technical aspects of the device, the LG G5 sports a 5.3-inch QHF IPS display. The display of the device has a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The pixel density on the screen is 554 pixels per inch.

Under its hood, it boasts the latest Snapdragon 820 processor from Qualcomm which has been rocking benchmark tests for quite some time now. The powerful processor is accompanied with 4GB of RAM which ensures that the beast does not slow down or lag even when the user is indulging in multitasking.

On its back side, the device sports a 16-megapixel and 8-megapixeldual-camera setup with an 8-megapixel one on its front end. It features the latest USB Type-C for the purpose of charging the device and data transfer.

The 8-megapixel camera on the back is actually built with a wide-angle lens which has a field of view of 135 degrees. The other camera, that is the 16-megapixel one has a field-view of 78 degrees. Depending on the amount of zoom, the camera app makes use of either of the cameras.

The power button and the fingerprint scanner are located on the back-end of the device. Instead of building the fingerprint scanner on the home button, which is the case in most high-end smartphones of recent times, LG has decided to place it on the backside of the G5 which is unconventional.

The placement is such that users are easily able to access it while holding the device in their hands. The volume rockers can be found on the side of the device.

It runs on Android 6.0 out of the box and comes with an in-built memory of 32GB. The storage space can obviously be expanded by users upto 2TB using an external microSD card in the microSD slot of the device. It packs a 2800mAH battery which keeps it up and running for a significant period of time.

It has the measurements of 149.4 x 73.9 x 7.7mm and weighs in at 159g. it is available in four color options which include- Silver, Titan, Pink and Gold.

The device comes with a metal unibody design and has quite the majestic appearance. The main innovation regarding this device is that the developers have made its lower bezel removable.

It is a slide fit and can be taken out of the device by users. Readers might be wondering; why would LG want to make a smartphone with a removable lower end. It is here that all the innovation comes into play.
