A Complete Review of the 2016 Nissan Leaf, Receives Greater Driving Range While the Prospects Still Looking Grim!

According to Nissan, Leaf sedan has received a more powerful 30 Kw battery and the range has been increased by at least 25 per cent.

When you consider various factors like air conditioning and heating and infotainment switched on, four sturdy passengers, highway driving, a cold or a hot day with hills to climb, the usable range in the latest Nissan Leaf is close to 95 miles, which is an improvement when considering the 75 miles range for the previous model. In the US, the official range comparison revealed 107 miles to 84 miles.

The Chairman of Nissan Europe, Paul Willcox is quite excited about the progress made so far. Wilcox declared, “The Leaf, the best-selling EV (electric vehicle) in the world, just got even better.

And up to 155 miles opens the world of EV to thousands of drivers across Europe who before just weren’t completely confident that an EV would work for them. This extra range will make Leaf ownership an easy first choice, for many, many more drivers.”

In reality, there won’t be a rush to electric car showrooms unless the range provided by an EV is around 250-300 miles on a single full charge and on top of that, prices need to be reduced by half.
