A Comparison of Sony Xperia E4 Dual and Motorola Moto G 2014, Meanwhile, the Former Gets Released In India!

Sony first announced the Xperia E4 and the E4 Dual in February. Right now, Sony is ready to take the device to India. The Japanese company has decided to officially launch this device in the Indian market. However, this is the 3G-enabled Sony Xperia E4 Dual and not the 4G-enabled Xperia E4g. Just as the name indicates the Dual stands for a Dual-SIM capability. In India, it has been recommended for a price of INR 12,490. It is roughly equivalent to $199 or 188 euros at the current foreign exchange rates. Available at a similar price, let us compare the Moto G 2014 edition with the Sony Xperia E4 Dual.

Both these devices are priced at a similar level with the Xperia E4 Dual available at INR 12,490 and the Moto G available at INR 12,499. However, the Xperia E4 Dual will be available across multiple retail chains but the Moto G is only available through Flipkart.

In the size and dimensions aspect, both these devices are rather chunky. The Moto G has a thickness of 11m compared while the Xperia E4 Dual is almost same at 10.5mm. The former is around 5 grams heavier than the E4 dual which weighs around 144g.

Display-wise, both these smartphones feature a 5-inch display but there is a difference in the display resolutions. Moto G has a 720p HD display with a 294ppi pixel density. It features an IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors and a ~68.9% screen-to-body ratio. The display is protected by the superior Corning Gorilla Glass 3 solution. Compared to that, the E4 features a qHD resolution display at 960×540 pixels with 220ppi pixel density. It also supports 4-finger multi-touch input and is protected by scratch-resistant glass. It has a ~67.4% screen-to-body ratio.

The Sony Xperia E4 Dual features a MediaTek MT6582 1.3GHz Quad-Core processor along with 1GB of RAM, which is quite standard at this price point. Compared to that, the Moto G features a 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 chipset, paired with 1GB of RAM. The Xperia E4 Dual has a Mali-400MP2 graphics solution compared to the Adreno 305 in the Moto G 2014.
