When it finally arrives in December, it is being predicted that the 2016 Chevrolet Volt will give the Tesla model S a run for its money, especially in the electric car market segment. The vehicle comes with notable improvements and changes in most fronts and includes highly refined features at the same time.
The American Chevy Volt is quite different from most other competitors, making it one of the best. According to Chevrolet, the Volt is an electric car that comes with a backup plan.
It has a 1.5L direct-injected, high-efficiency engine and it runs on electric charge and then generates enough electric power through a generator that is powered by gas, in case the battery runs out. In the end, you get the confidence to drive as long as you want.
There are two electric motors working together in the 2016 Chevrolet Volt in order to increase efficiency while conserving electricity at the same time. Therefore, the torque and power delivered is quite responsive.
The new model has an engine of just 1.5liters but will deliver power up to 101hp while being silent and powerful, both as a regular as well as a silent car. When two engines are used at the same time, the horsepower will get increased to 149 but the car will still remain silent.
